You can read the history of a band like Free on wiki or wherever if you really want to but the fact is that whenever I end up on YouTube I seem to be drawn back to their live performances. They were only together for barely 3 years and their sheer chemistry was only really captured on a couple of sessions for Beat Club and Granada TV’s Doing Their Thing, where the sound and visual quality was excellent. Andy Fraser on bass was barely 18 at the time, and Paul Kossoff on guitar not much older but they were caught at a magical moment in 1970. The interplay and tightness of the players is just spine tingling. And Paul Rodgers, well just the greatest rock singer in my book. Enough said, you just have to listen. Oh, also, their lesser known single My Brother Jake is my favourite track of all time by anybody, it’s a perfect song, lovely piano too, but video is not a live one.
P.S. Any comments about tight trousers will be severely edited

I always forget that All Right Now is by Free.
My Brother Jake is an utter banger.
Did you know that they had to put their name as “The Free” sometimes in case people thought the concert was free?
It’s AI controlled, so the algorithm cut in of course, you rude person. I know you so well.
Strangely, I did hear that recently.
Also, I can’t guess the second bit….
